Airbus A320-200 accident report

Wreckage – Firefighters are walking around the wreckage of air India's Airbus that crashed and burned out yesterday. Incidentally, fewer people were killed in the air disaster than was assumed. Initially, it was feared that of the 146 people on board, 130 had been killed. Later, the number of victims was reduced to 89. The cause of the Airbus disaster is still unknown. Flight IC605 from Mumbai (BOM) to Bangalore (BLR), India with 7 crew and 139 passengers. First flight : 15 Sep.1989. Descended to low on final approach to BLR RW09 and struck the boundaries of Karnataka Golf Club 2300 ft. short of the runway. Overshot on landing on RW11 in windshear conditions.

Flight GF072 from Cairo (CAI) to Bahrain (BAH) with 8 crew and 135 passengers.

Approach Bahrein RW12 but they come in too high and too fast, and the flight crew decided for a go-around. During the go-around the aircraft suddenly lost altitude and crashed into the sea. Wednesday 3 May 2006 Armavia Airbus A320-211 EK32009 c/n 547

Flight 967 from Yerevan (EVN), Armenia to Adler/Socchi apt (AER), Russia with 8 crew and 105 passengers. Approaching Socchi in minimum weather conditions, with rain, low clouds and low visibility in the dark. Weather quickly deteriorated and a go-around was initiated but then the aircraft lost speed and the aircraft descended till it impacted the water. Cause : crew lost situational awareness. first flight : 28 June 1995

Flight JJ3054 from Porte Alegre (POA), Brazil to Sao Paulo – Congonhas apt. (CGH) with 6 crew and 181 passengers. The heavily loaded aircraft overshot the wet and slippery runway with one thrust reverser not operative and crashed into a TAM Express building. first flight : 13 Feb. 1998 Airframe hrs : 20000 cycles : 9300 engines : IAE V2527-A5 All people on board died in the crash and in addition 12 people died on the ground. location : +-10m 23°37’10.95”S 46°39’45.30”W

There were also 2 infants aboard, they must have been sitting on the parents laps, making 187 souls on board.

Flight 390 from San Salvador (SAL) to Tegucigalpa (TGU), Honduras with 6 crew and 118 passengers. Overran on landing at runway 02. First flight : 29 Nov. 2000

Thursday 27 November 2008 XL Airways Germany Airbus A320-232 D-AXLA c/n 2500. The aircraft was leased from Air New Zealand.

Flight 9E888T test flight from Perpignan, France with 2 crew and 5 passengers. During low speed, high angle of attack testing the crew lost control and the aircraft crashed into the sea. Cause : blocked angle of attack sensors. first flight : 30 June 2005

Flight QZ8501 from Surabaya (SUB), Indonesia to Singapore with 6 crew and 156 passengers. first flight : 25 Sep. 2008 cause : en route problems with the ECAM, finally the crew did a reset of the FAC Circuit Breakers, what can not be done in flight resulting in failing systems and loss of control. Airframe hrs : 23039 cycles : 13610 engines : CFMI CFM56-5B6/3 all people on board died in the crash.

Flight 4U9525 from Barcelona (BCN) to Dusseldorf (DUS) with 6 crew and 144 passengers. first flight : 29 November 1990

Cause : co-pilot committed suicide by diving the airplane into the ground. location : +-100m 44°16’48.71”N 6°26’19.59”E The accident site was located in mountainous terrain, in the municipality of Prads-Haute-Blιone, France ,1,550 m above sea level. The wreckage was fragmented with a large amount of debris spread over an area of 4 hectares in a sloping rocky ravine. The largest parts of the aeroplane were about 3 to 4 metres long.

Friday 22 May 2020 Pakistan International Airlines A320-214 AP-BLD c/n 2274

Flight PK8303 from Lahore (LHE) to Karachi (KHI) with 8 crew and 91 passengers. first flight : 17 August 2004. ILS Approach to RW25L but the aircraft came in to high. The aircraft landed with the landing gear retracted, with the engines scraping the tarmac. The crew managed to lift off the aircraft again and initiated a go-around. But the engines stopped working one by one during the second approach to RW25L and the aircraft was not able to reach the runway and crashed 1340m short in a residential area called Model Colony destroying 12 houses and multiple cars.
